Description:

Nettles Farm sits on 3 acres near the Willows Inn on Lummi Island. The food produced on the farm supplies the kitchen at the Willows, ranked one of the top restaurants worth a plane ride by the New York Times. Our produce, eggs, and flowers are also available at the Lummi Island Farmers’ Market. We have an 80-hen laying flock, a Hungarian Mangalista pig, and a small fruit orchard. We grow a wide variety of fruit, vegetables, and flowers and have two hoop houses for season extension. Nettles Farm practices sustainable cultivation techniques and uses no pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. Laying hens forage outside and are fed certified-organic feed.

For a deeper experience, stay overnight in one of our three lodgings: the Farmhouse Suite, the Nettles Farm Yurt, or the Nettles Farm Cabin. Revel in the quiet of Nettles Farm, and the sounds of its animals and wildlife.

For an even more in-depth experience, join one of our small weekend workshops that feature hands-on learning about such practical skills as turning your backyard chicken into a stewing hen, how to fillet a whole salmon, and other farming skills.
