Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems, University of Wisconsin. Created in 1989 this University of Wisconsin center is responsible for sustainable agriculture research programs that respond to farmer and citizen needs and involving them in setting research agendas. This web site has a number of excellent publications, especially for value added cheese.


Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture, Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa. The Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture explores and cultivates alternatives that secure healthier people and landscapes in Iowa and the nation. This center works off of state fees on nitrogen fertilizer and pesticide sales which provide an estimated $1,100,000 annually to support research, education, and administration of Center programs. Michigan Integrated Food and Farming Systems, East Lansing, Michigan. The Michigan Integrated Food and farming Systems (MIFFS) program is a collaborative effort to create and support more sustainable food and agriculture systems for producers and consumers in Michigan.
